Richard Newman is a Chemical Industry Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality expert with over 40 years of Global experience in the Food, Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas and Specialty Chemical Industries. He has demonstrated leadership and expertise in the areas of Change management, Business Improvements, World Class & Lean principles and Team Dynamics.
As Engineering Director and Quality Manager at Rhodia (Rhone Poulenc) Specialty Chemical Company for 27 years, he excelled as a global internal consultant to several of their Business Enterprises.
Mr. Newman is known for his abilities to turnaround under-performing operations and manufacturing businesses through the planning and implementation of successful engineering and quality initiatives. His efforts have allowed Business Enterprises to increase profits, improve productivity, reduce costs and retain customers through significant improvements in customer satisfaction.
Over the years, Mr. Newman has successfully led initiatives in the areas of Benchmarking, Re-engineering, Total Productive Maintenance, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Value Stream Analysis, ISO 9001:2015 Certification and all World Class & Lean Process Improvement Tools.
Mr. Newman holds an MBA from The Citadel and a BS in Chemistry from Charleston Southern University. He is a member of the Association of Manufacturing Excellence, American Chemical Society, and the Society for Maintenance Reliability Professionals. He has also been adjunct professor at Temple University and ISO 9000 Auditor/Lead Auditor qualified.
